Taking place this year from September 25 to October 5, 2025, in the heart of Switzerland, ZFF is one of Europe’s most respected platforms for emerging directors, documentary filmmakers, and thought-provoking storytelling. And yet, it manages to do so without spectacle. Just cinema, in its purest form.

Zürich is a short flight from Istanbul, yet I still see limited participation from Türkiye. That’s a missed opportunity.

It’s not a festival obsessed with being loud. It’s obsessed with being meaningful. For Turkish producers, directors, and storytellers looking to go global, this is the kind of stage where your voice can truly be heard—without being drowned out.

As the President of the Turkish Film Commission, I view festivals like ZFF as more than just events. They are platforms where narratives are shaped, collaborations are born, and new cinematic geographies are mapped.

Zurich has become, for me, a place to recharge creatively. It’s where I go not just to watch, but to listen. It’s where I find stories waiting to be told—and the people ready to tell them.
